What do you do with your pictures?
After spending over 30 years in the healthcare industry, people as me "Why did you become a Digital Collage Artist?" Because it's one of my greatest passions. I was so tired of looking through boxes of photos that were unorganized with no "story" behind them. When I started to go through everything and sort the pictures I had a choice. I could put them in separate albums and put them on a shelf or I could do something creative with them. So I decided to scan the pictures, and create some collages. One thing led to another and before you knew it I was creating Digital Collages for my friends. Next, I started to put some of my scrapbooking skills into my collages and WALLA. . .a Digital Collage Scrapbook Style. I started experimenting with different ideas and before you knew it, I thought I should put some of these collages on photo gifts. Now, not just the typical mugs and mouse pads, but something different. I started to design large size posters. . .you know 24" x 36", 30" x 30" etc. Well, I started offering one of my favorites: PHOTO PLACEMATS! You have no idea how great a Scrapbook Style Collage looks on a Placemat until you see it. The idea is great. How about a PHOTO FLOORMAT with a collage of pet? A PHOTO PILLOWCASE with a collage of your loved ones. Or a PHOTOTHROW Memorial Collage of a loved family member or pet that has passed on. How about CUSTOM LIFE-SIZE STANDUPS! These are just a few of the many unique photo gifts. Then came one of my most favorites. . .the WALLHOGS: Your photo or graphic is made into a reusable vinyl, Photo-Tex, poster or canvas print. The backgrounds are removed for FREE at your request. You can select sizes ranging from two to seven feet tall. They stick to your wall and look just phenomenal. I've created Collages for the last 10 years and know that anybody can do it. It just takes somebody to show you. I'll be putting together a series on "How To Create A Digital Collage" in the future. If you like the idea, let me know. In the meantime, be sure to review my Sample Blog to see some of the collages. I know you'll enjoy them. Contributor's Note
I've learned about designing collages by myself. I didn't take any courses or attend special classes. It was a long road, but I did it.
